I suggest doing a search for "blog directories" and registering with at least the top 10-20. The more the better. The ones that are coming up higher in the search are likely to give you more "link juice".
2. Create a Blog Button and get it out there.
Create your own button or get one designed for you. Once again networking and getting onto people's blog rolls is key.
3. Join some Blogger social networks.
There are loads of ning networks were you can get your blog listed and make blogger buddies. You can also join CafeMom, Mom Bloggers Club, Blog Frog, Social Moms, Bloggy Moms and the Mom Blog Network.
4. Visit other blogs and follow them if you like them.
Then leave comments letting the blogger know you enjoy their articles and you are following them. Mostly, they will return the favor and commenting with many sites leaves a backlink to you. Be sure to notice cool widgets and other networking tools while you are there!
5. Be sure that your blog has a social media sharing widget or button installed.
There are several free options, you can check out http://sharethis.com/ as one or there are lots of plugins. This increases traffic by allowing others to share your links more easily.
6. Create a Facebook Page for your Blog.

8. Have a newsletter or subscribe by email option.
I resisted this for a long time thinking that would mean they wouldn't visit my blog to read it. I am sorry I waited so long. It is now one of my top sources of traffic! I use mail chimp for newsletters from this site and feed burner subscription for my Family Focus Blog emails.
This should give you a good starting place for networking your blog to get maximum results from your posts. Happy blogging!
